Brittany L. LaBerry

Associate
Criminal Defense Attorney - Admitted In Arizona

Brittany was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Brittany earned her B.S. in Criminal Justice Studies from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. During her undergraduate studies, the courses she enrolled in often involved legal studies. One of the courses Brittany enrolled in was psychology and law. This course touched on legal defenses, and it was in that moment Brittany discovered her passion for law.

Brittany went on to pursue her passion of becoming an attorney and making a difference. Brittany attended DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, Illinois. During law school, Brittany worked in the Civil Rights Clinic representing individuals whose rights were violated by police officers. Additionally, Brittany was among only twelve DePaul students to be on DePaul’s National Trial Team. When Brittany first tried out for trial team, Brittany was fighting an unfortunate injury which left her paralyzed. Despite being paralyzed at the time of tryouts, Brittany made sure that did not affect her studies and went on to make the team. Brittany remained dedicated to her physical recovery and her education. Brittany re-learned how to walk while going through law school.

Brittany’s trial team competed at numerous competitions throughout the school year. Brittany specifically competed at Georgetown’s White Collar Trial Team Competition and the American Association for Justice Trial Advocacy Competition. Brittany gained valuable trial advocacy strategy and oral argument skills. Additionally, Brittany worked as a law clerk throughout law school at a criminal defense firm in Chicago, Illinois. In her third year, she also earned a CALI Excellence for the Future Award.

Brittany graduated from DePaul University College of Law, receiving her Juris Doctorate. Before she graduated, she knew she wanted to make the cross-country move to Arizona. She moved to Arizona and thereafter was admitted to the Arizona State Bar to practice law as a licensed attorney.

Brittany’s favorite quote is “the comeback is always stronger than the setback.” Brittany believes that every individual has setbacks they must overcome, but it is how you handle that setback that defines you. Brittany believes a criminal charge is no different and believes this mindset is a strong tool during your criminal case.

Brittany enjoys traveling and gaining new experiences because she knows first-hand that you must live in the moment. Brittany has been skydiving, bungee jumping, and cliff jumping in Croatia. Brittany enjoys spending all her free time with her family, friends, and her dog, Balto.

I want to express my gratitude to Attorneys for Freedom, especially to Emma Wittman and Greg Fitzpatrick, for their exceptional work in assisting me with a very stressful situation. When I called the emergency hotline, Emma managed my case with respect, speed, and efficiency. She was crucial in finding the right attorney to represent me in my state. They devoted considerable time to ensuring the attorney was the right fit for me. I highly recommend that anyone needing legal assistance utilize their services; it's truly the best option.

I have been meaning to write this review for some time now. (Sorry for the delay Marc) I am a newer member of AOR and thankfully haven't had to use any of the services that come along with being a member. I do want to speak to the exceptional customer service I have received both before signing up and after. I think I watched several hours of YouTube videos on all the major plans available and commented on many, including AOR videos to which Marc replied. I know I emailed the firm with general questions multiple times and spoke to members of the firm twice before even signing up. Never once did I feel like they weren't available to answer questions. After signing up I was planning a vacation and reached out the the local sheriff's office about carrying in that state/city. I wasn't given much information at all, so... I reached out to AOR. Marc replied and gave me some general advice and then forwarded my email to a couple of associates at the firm Moises Morales and Pierre B Whyte, the two prepared a thoughtful email with great advice for protecting myself while on vacation. This is the type of service that, in my opinion makes Attorneys for Freedom and the AOR program different.

Feels good to switch from an insurance company to an actual lawyers firm that feels as strongly as I do about the Second Amendment and the right to carry.
