UBER GUN POLICY
Attorney Marc J. Victor on Uber Gun Policy
UBER FIREARMS PROHIBITION POLICY: “We seek to ensure that everyone using the Uber digital platform-both driver-partners and riders-feels safe and comfortable using the service. During a ride arranged through the Uber platform, Uber and its affiliates therefore prohibit possessing firearms of any kind in a vehicle. Any rider or driver found to have violated this prohibition may lose access to the Uber platform.”
Uber Gun Policy – The smartphone app-based cab company, Uber, has its drivers and riders operating under a new “no guns” policy.
Gun-owning attorney Marc Victor, who specializes in firearms law, also agrees with Uber’s gun ban.
“People know me to be a strong supporter of the right to bear arms, but there’s no government issue or Second Amendment issue,” he said. “This is private action by a private corporation, and they absolutely have the right to ban guns.”
Note: The media stated in the article that I agree with the gun ban, and that is not what I said. I said I agree Uber has the right to have a gun ban just as any private business has the right to make decisions about that business. Big difference. – Marc J. Victor
