As a former prosecutor with over 20 years of experience in the courtroom, Kate has litigated and tried many high-profile and noteworthy cases in both Maricopa and Pinal Counties. Throughout her career, Kate has handled an array of cases to include Capital Murder, Complex Drug Sales, Sex Cases, and DUI. Her exemplary work has been recognized by many organizations.

Kate has always had a passion for, and dedication to, justice. She received most of her education through the Arizona school system graduating from Chandler High School, Arizona State University and University of Arizona. Kate began her legal journey as defense attorney and began to transition back to her roots when she earned her Masters degree in Forensic Psychology. Her studies expanded her understanding of the human mind and behavior. Kate’s roots as a defense attorney, her studies, along with her role in creating a Mental Health Court and participation in Drug Court, confirmed her belief that the criminal justice system requires reformation to align itself with the needs of the people it serves.

Kate is an advocate both inside and outside of the courtroom for others who need a voice, or a helping hand on their life’s journey. She has worked diligently in the community through her church and other civic organizations assisting others with a variety of activities. Kate has worked with young people, voter registration drives, and assisting those who lost their civil rights to have them restored.

As a community advocate, defense attorney, and prosecutor she has perfected her craft of fighting for freedom.
