Steven Anderson was beaten and tasered by U.S. Border Patrol agents and Arizona DPS officers at a Homeland Security checkpoint East of Yuma in April of 2009 for refusing to answer questions. He was subsequently charged by Arizona DPS officers with several violations of state law even though he had been seized at a federal checkpoint by federal agents allegedly enforcing federal law.

Jodi Arias was on trial for the murder of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander. The killing of Travis Alexander occurred on June 4, 2008, at his home in Mesa, Arizona. His wounds consisted of multiple stab wounds, a slit throat, and a shot to the head; the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.

It began with a simple misunderstanding when the officers asked Lihosit to read them back some of the text messages and emails on his cellphone. The first line of one of the messages begins, “This is ridiculous just like you.” Lihosit reads the phrase and Officer Carroll misunderstands and thinks Lihosit is saying that to him. After it’s explained that Lihosit is just reading the message, Carroll said “I was going to say. I was about to punch him in the face.”

Bonar was charged with punching Marissa Morris in the face while serving an arrest warrant on Morris. Bonar attempted to arrest Morris because he thought she had an outstanding warrant. Morris resisted arrest, telling Bonar in the video that the warrant had been cleared. Bonar then allegedly punched her twice in the face as the two struggled.
