Extreme DUI | Attorneys for Freedom Law Firm

Chandler Extreme DUI Lawyer

It is well known that Arizona has some of the harshest DUI laws in the country. Even a first-time misdemeanor DUI conviction in this state carries mandatory jail time, significant fines, administrative suspensions, the requirement to equip one’s vehicle with an ignition interlock device, and many other possible repercussions that can tremendously affect one’s life.

In Arizona, DUI crimes are divided into different categories, standard DUI, extreme DUI, super extreme DUI, and aggravated DUI. You will be charged with a specific category of DUI based on your (BAC) Blood Alcohol Concentration. In addition, there is also a separate category for underage DUI.

Under A.R.S. §28-1382 an extreme DUI is a BAC that is 0.15 or higher. It is unlawful for a person to drive or be in actual physical control of a vehicle in this state if the person has an alcohol concentration as follows within two hours of driving or being in actual physical control of the vehicle and the alcohol concentration results from alcohol consumed either before or while driving or being in actual physical control of the vehicle: 0.15 or more but less than 0.20.

A person who is convicted of a violation of this section is guilty of driving or being in actual physical control of a vehicle while under the extreme influence of intoxicating liquor. A BAC of 0.20 or higher is a Super Extreme DUI which will cover in another article. BAC may be determined through various chemical tests, including a breathalyzer, blood, or urine test.

The consequences of an extreme DUI in Arizona can include:

  • Jail time
  • Driver’s license suspension
  • Fines and fees
  • Ignition interlock device
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Community service
  • SR-22 “High Risk” insurance rates

I have been meaning to write this review for some time now. (Sorry for the delay Marc) I am a newer member of AOR and thankfully haven't had to use any of the services that come along with being a member. I do want to speak to the exceptional customer service I have received both before signing up and after. I think I watched several hours of YouTube videos on all the major plans available and commented on many, including AOR videos to which Marc replied. I know I emailed the firm with general questions multiple times and spoke to members of the firm twice before even signing up. Never once did I feel like they weren't available to answer questions. After signing up I was planning a vacation and reached out the the local sheriff's office about carrying in that state/city. I wasn't given much information at all, so... I reached out to AOR. Marc replied and gave me some general advice and then forwarded my email to a couple of associates at the firm Moises Morales and Pierre B Whyte, the two prepared a thoughtful email with great advice for protecting myself while on vacation. This is the type of service that, in my opinion makes Attorneys for Freedom and the AOR program different.

Feels good to switch from an insurance company to an actual lawyers firm that feels as strongly as I do about the Second Amendment and the right to carry.
