What They Don't Tell You...

The Legal Shield Basic Plan provides 60 hours of attorney time for the first year of membership. This plan may sound good at first, but Legal Shield knows what all attorneys know; it is very unlikely your case will ever make it to trial. That’s because 97 percent of federal cases and 94 percent of state cases end in plea bargains. So, you will most likely never use this.

What is the Difference Between AOR and other Discount Legal Programs?

What is the Attorneys On Retainer Program?

When searching for the best legal services program, you will find that there are several different programs to choose from. So why should you consider the Attorneys On Retainer Program from the Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm? When you become a member of the Attorneys On Retainer Program, you will have an established attorney-client relationship with the Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm. This means you will be able to obtain the professional legal services of our attorneys at a drastically reduced and extremely affordable rate.

Why is the Attorneys On Retainer Program Different?

With other programs such as Legal Shield, you do not know who the attorney is that will be assigned to handle your legal matters. As a member of the Attorneys on Retainer Program, you will be working with an attorney from the Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm or one of their Of Counsel Attorneys. The Attorneys on Retainer program at the Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm is an opportunity to both secure a trusted law firm and to avoid paying outrageously high legal fees. Also, we do not charge you additional add-on fees for other services such as gun charges and business matters as Legal Shield does.

What is covered?

Any legal matter in the areas of Criminal Law, DUI, Personal Injury, Wrongful Death, *Estate Planning, *Family Law, Civil Rights, and Commercial Litigation. Estate Planning and Family Law matters will be handled by an attorney who is of counsel to the Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm. In contingency matters, we reduce our normal rates as well.

Does the program cover matters outside of Arizona?

Yes, but for any contingent fee matter pending in a jurisdiction other than Arizona, Client understands and agrees that a portion of the contingent fee earned by Attorney shall be paid to the co-counsel licensed in that jurisdiction and that Client shall be notified of the name of the co-counsel prior to the other lawyer entering an appearance on Client’s behalf. Also, if the out of state matter is in a state in which no attorney from the Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm is currently licensed, the Attorney shall secure local counsel in the state and appear pro hac vice for the representation. Client shall be responsible for such costs and fees above any fees paid to the Attorney for representation.

How much does it cost to become a member?

We have plans starting as low as $19.95 per month, as well as, family and group plans. Members will be able to have an attorney on retainer in the event they need legal services. Members will pay the reduced hourly rate of $175.00 an hour (the normal hourly rate is $650 an hour) for legal representation. For matters eligible for contingency fees, Members are entitled to the reduced initial contingency fee rate of 25% through settlement (33% if the case goes to trial) instead of the normal initial contingency fee rate of 33% or 45% (for trial) depending on the nature of the matter. Reduced contingency fees mean more money for you.

FAQ

Does Legal Shield include attorney hourly rates with their membership?

Yes, but chances are, you will never use them. The Legal Shield Basic Plan provides 60 hours of attorney time for the first year of membership. The first year the plan includes 2.5 hours of pre-trial time and 57.5 hours of trial time. This plan may sound good at first, but Legal Shield knows what all attorneys know; it is very unlikely your case will ever make it to trial. This is why all the time is allocated to trial time. They know you will probably never use it. That’s because 97 percent of federal cases and 94 percent of state cases end in plea bargains. So, you will pay a reduced hourly rate for attorneys fees with Legal Shield as well. Also, their basic plan does not cover many legal matters such as gun-related and business-related matters without paying additional monthly fees. The Attorneys on Retainer program covers all these matters as well as others for the low monthly membership cost.

Can I wait and become a member when I need legal services?

No, you must be a member before needing legal services. Just as you would not be able to purchase hurricane insurance for your home after your home was destroyed by a hurricane, you can’t purchase a legal discount program, after you need legal services. Any legal matters that occurred before the date of membership in the program will not be covered.

Do you have other plans to cover other members of my family?

Yes, we have several other plans to choose from in addition to our Single Plan. You can also choose our Plus One Plan which allows you to add another person of your choice to your plan. The Family Plan is for up to four family members. If you have more than 4 members in your family, you will need to purchase an additional plan for those additional members. For example: If you are a family of 6, you would need to purchase the Family Plan, and then the Plus 1 Plan to cover all 6 family members. If you still need more, you can select our Group Plan for 10 or more people.

Are there any discounts offered?

Yes, the monthly per person rate is discounted with the larger plans. For example, the Single Plan is $19.95 per month, and the Family Plan is only $16.95 per person.  Also, if you pay any membership in full for the year, you will also receive another 10% off the total purchase price.

Once you compare the other plans, the Attorneys on Retainer is the obvious choice. For $19.95 per month, you will have an attorney on retainer in the event you need legal representation. Unlike other legal plans that only offer you document reviews and legal advice on certain very specific areas of law. The Attorneys on Retainer program provides complete legal protection.

Monthly Fee for Membership

The non-refundable earned on receipt retainer fee to be a Member of the Attorneys on Retainer program is $19.95 per month. This monthly fee assures the Firms availability for members and is not a flat fee for legal services. Hourly fees for services are in addition to the monthly retainer fee. Clients may terminate the membership at any time upon written notice to the firm. Once the attorney/client relationship is terminated, the firm will move to withdraw as Clients counsel in all pending matters.

The hourly rate applies to legal fees only. Necessary and pre-approved expenses (such as transcripts, filing fees, and expert witness costs) are billed separately. Legal representation outside of the State of Arizona requires an additional fee for local counsel, as well as seeking pro hac vice admission where permitted. The attorneys currently employed at the Attorneys For Freedom Law Firm are admitted to practice law only in Arizona. The event giving rise to criminal prosecution must occur after membership in the program is paid in order for the reduced hourly rate to apply. All monthly retainer fees are only to ensure the attorney’s availability and are not a flat fee for certain services. As such, all fees are earned on receipt and non-refundable.  Members must deposit sufficient funds in the trust account to commence legal representation and replenish as necessary.

Reduced Legal Fees

For matters appropriate for hourly rates, Members are eligible to obtain applicable legal services from the law firm at the reduced hourly rate of $175.00 per hour instead of the normal hourly rate of $450 – $650.00 per hour for legal fees.  For matters eligible for contingency fees, Members are entitled to the reduced initial contingency fee rate of 25% through settlement (33% if the case goes to trial) instead of the normal initial contingency fee rate of 33% or 45% (for trial) depending on the nature of the matter.

All members will receive the same professional legal representation and personal attention from the staff as clients who pay the regular hourly or contingency rates.

“Great membership program and affordable, truly a lifesaver! Great attention to detail is what I can say about this firm and its representatives. Glad we crossed paths the way we did and nice to know someone has my back without breaking the bank!” ~Anne Pierce
