Honolulu Drunk Driver Accident Lawyer | Attorneys for Freedom Law Firm

Honolulu Pedestrian Accident Attorney

Hawaii is tied with Louisiana as being the 6th most dangerous state for pedestrians. This is certainly not a record to be proud of, and one we would like to lose. Each year in Hawaii, pedestrians suffer severe and sometimes fatal injuries. Pedestrian injuries and fatalities remain high. In 2019, 6,205 pedestrians were killed, and an estimated 76,000 pedestrians were injured nationwide according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Most of these accidents are caused by drivers who are distracted, driving aggressively, impaired by alcohol or drugs, or are otherwise negligent.

Pedestrian Accidents can be caused by:

  • Distracted driving
  • Reckless driving
  • Speeding
  • Failure to follow traffic signs or signals
  • Failure to yield the right of way
  • Failure to signal
  • Poor weather or traffic conditions
  • Driving while impaired
  • Driving while drowsy or fatigued

Hawaii is especially dangerous for people 65 and over. The AARP ranks Hawaii as the most dangerous state in the nation for pedestrians 65 and older. No matter the age, pedestrians are at high risk of injury in Hawaii. In some cases, both the pedestrian and the driver may be at fault. In these cases, the pedestrian may still be entitled to compensation, but compensation could be reduced depending on how much responsibility was on the pedestrian for the accident.

Not all pedestrian accidents result in just injuries. Some pedestrian injuries can be fatal. Even at low speeds, the weight and mass of a vehicle colliding with a pedestrian can leave them with injuries that are debilitating and even life-threatening.

Pedestrian injuries can include:

  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Brain injuries
  • Spinal cord injuries
  • Chest and abdominal injuries
  • Broken bones
  • Torn tendons and ligaments
  • Disc herniation

I think AOR is the best option and have just received my renewal. The firm refuses to answer this question: Has AOR ever represented anyone in my geographic area? No names, no details, just that question and they won’t answer it for “confidentiality” reasons. Strange I think.
Response from the owner: Thank you so much for your 5-star review, William! We have represented several people in different states on the east coast over the past 30 years. Attorney Andy Marcantel just appeared in a FL courthouse this week.  However, we have not yet had a case in NC.
