Honolulu White Collar Crimes Attorney

The term “white collar crimes” relates to financial crimes that are non-violent in nature. These crimes are usually committed by individuals, businesses, or government professionals. It was first defined by the sociologist Edwin Sutherland in 1939 as “a crime committed by a person of respectability and high social status in the course of their occupation”. Because these crimes were thought to be usually perpetrated by people who wore suits, the term “white collar crimes.” was born.

Typical white-collar crimes may include:

White-collar crimes usually involve some type of fraud or deception as a means for financial gain. In many cases, these crimes are committed by people in the context of their workplace position who have or can gain access to their company’s bank accounts. These positions might include banking, investment firms, accounting, insurance, or mortgage industries. These types of crimes can be charged at the state or federal level. White-collar crime investigations may involve accounting and bookkeeping forensics.

Many times, in white collar cases the prosecution will be required to prove the defendant did not simply make a mistake. By doing this they will investigate what is known as the mens rea of the defendant or in other words, the mental state of the person charged. The prosecution needs to prove that the defendant acted with bad intent.

White collar crimes can be very serious and in certain cases involve mandatory prison, if the amount involved exceeds $100,000.00. These cases can be time-consuming and expensive to defend because they may require the use of many financial experts, such as tax professionals, forensic accountants, document examiners, and other investigators.

As a member of the AOR program, Attourney Rachel Moss helped handle a situation I was involved in and I can’t say enough good things about her and the program itself. She had my back immediately and helped me throughout the entire ordeal. She was very quick to respond to me, answered all my questions and helped me out tremendously. I would totally recommend the AOR program to others.

I just completed the upgrade, and it was easy and quick because I had already watched the video. I watched again most of it to refresh my memory of all the benefits. To have representation before a self-defense incident is comforting therefore not hesitate to protect myself and my family under duress. I know I don't want to hurt or kill anyone with my firearm but to be afraid of the ramifications and die because I'm afraid for my family's existence is counterproductive to having a firearm at all. I recommend this method, as one of the steps in self-defense.
Response from the owner:Hi Casey. Thanks for your kind words! We are honored to represent you. Marc
